Art is the most important part of my life
I was born in Yerevan, where I am currently living and creating. I have been drawing since I was 5.
It seems like art has always been in my veins. In my opinion, it is the place for the formulation of the human mind, where art itself is completely irrational. To me, modern art is in a strange process. Almost all ideas are exhausted and new ideas are rarely born. Through painting, I’m trying to convey the formula of my ideas to the world, emphasizing first the importance of the idea, then of material and shape.
Unfortunately, the shape is the first in importance in the market, while the idea is what should play the main role and choose the way to express itself.
For example, “Penguin on the Equator”, a canvas from my “Merging and Disengagement” series, depicts the suffering of the “Penguin”. The latter, merging with the heat and human noise, dreams of mentally reaching its birthplace.
